The Las Cruces Dog Park is just south of the Meescheidt Recreation Center on Hermosa St.
The park has one solar-powered light for park users after sunfall. Legal park hours are 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily (it's never locked, tho').
The park has two shade structures, a fountain (for dogs and humans), about 26 young trees, four benches and numerous plastic lawn chairs.
The northeast section of the park is sectioned off as a "Special Needs Area."
Upon entering the first gate, remove leashes before passing through the second gate into the main area of the park.
Get poop bags for your dogs at the station near the entrance.  If everyone were to pick up an extra poop or two, no one would find it necessary to pick up 10-20 poops, which our volunteers now do every day.
Lately, smokers have been leaving cigarette butts in the park.  Dogs and puppies, especially, love to find and taste things on the  ground. Please be sure your butts end up in a trash can, not in some dog's mouth!
